Nepal’s popular folk rock band
9:05 AMNepal’s popular folk rock band Nepathya on Thursday performed in front
of an audience of 4,000 music lovers, including Nepali migrant workers,
at the KBS Area in Seoul of South Korea. The local organisers had sold
out of the tickets for the show at the hall with the capacity of 4,000
people, Nepalaya, which manages concerts for the band, informed in a
statement today.“Many people who travelled long for the show could not
enter. We are sorry for it,” the Nepalaya statement quoted Uina Singh
Tamang, President of Nepal Tamang Sangh, South Korea, as saying.
The show was hosted by the Sangh on the occasion of Korea’s Chuseok
festival. Chuseok is a major harvest festival celebrated with three days
of public holiday, when people visit their ancestral hometown. For
immigrant Nepali communities, this becomes an opportunity to get
together with friends. Most of the Nepali immigrants working in all
corners of South Korea gather in and around Seoul to meet friends,
according to Tamang
