Lokman karki run arriving
10:24 AMCIAA Chief Lokman Singh Karki, a Supreme Court (SC) official supposed to
visit the house of anti-graft body chief to paste court summmons has
gone out of contact. The SC was apparently preparing to visit karki’s
house today for the second time to paste court summons. The court
official, Shambhu Khatri, had promised over phone to meet at Kathmandu
Metropolitan City Ward-10 office at around 11 am but went out of
contact, the court sources said.“Now his mobile phone is switched off.
He has not come in contact. All the court documents are with him,” the
source added. The team had returned without pasting the SC order
yesterday after finding that the house was rented out.The court team
reached Karki’s house on Wednesday in New Baneshwor after he repeatedly
refused to receive it on various contexts.
Advocate Om Prakash Aryal, on November 24, 2015, had re-registered an
appeal seeking a review of Karki’s appointment after his initial
petition was quashed by SC. Following the appeal, a bench of Justices
Dipak Kumar Karki, Biswambhar Shrestha and Ishwar Prasad Khatiwada on
August 26 asked the Prime Minister’s Office and the Ministry of General
Administration to present documents, including the Cabinet minute,
related to Karki’s appointment.Government initially said the documents
were lost while they were shifting documents from the earthquake-ravaged
building. But after SC’s warned to take action against the concerned
government bodies if the appointment files were not produced before it,
the Prime Minister’s Office dispatched all relevant minutes to the SC.SC
had also send court summons to both Karki and Aryal. While Aryal
received the summons, Karki had refused to receive it on various
pretexts.
