Lal Babau Pandit Interview

6:14 AM

Minister for General Administration Lal Babu Pandit has said that his rights as minister were choked by the Cabinet while deciding the transfer of controversial Joint Secretary Bharat Raj Subedi to the Finance Ministry. After a strong opposition from Pandit, whose proposal was required to take ahead the transfer process, the Cabinet meeting on Friday had decided to transfer Subedi. Besides holding permanent residency of Australia, Subedi has a controversial career history.I would seek constitutional remedy through the constitution, acts and the performance rule of the Cabinet, if other ministers forward proposals in the Cabinet on behalf of his ministry, Pandit said in an interaction in the Capital on Tuesday.Without Pandit’s consent, the Cabinet meeting chaired by Acting Prime Minister Bam Dev Gautam on the request of Finance Minister Ram Sharan Mahat had decided to transfer Subedi. After the decision was made public on Monday, a team of CPN-UML related civil servants met with senior leaders and protested the move. They also warned of a protest to press the government into overturning its decision.”I have a serious concern over transferring Bharat Subedi whom I was taking action,” Pandit said.
