KATHMANDU: The maintenance of Tribhuvan International Airport, which developed cracks and potholes, has witnessed another crisis as hot-mix asphalt machine went kaput all of the sudden.
Nepal’s only international airport had purchased  heavy equipment two years ago at Rs 200 million. But both the asphalt machine and the concrete cutter were left unused  under the open skies.
TIA resorted to hiring technicians and equipment for the maintenance now.
A Fly Dubai flight scheduled to land at 6:30 am was diverted to Lucknow, India due to the closure of runway.
