Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal said that he was for endorsement of the impeachment motion against the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) chief, Lok Man Singh Karki, in consensus of major political parties.
PM Dahal said so while addressing leaders representing various student unions, who went to meet him to draw his attention to endorse the impeachment proposal against Karki, at Baluwatar in Kathmandu on Friday, a statement issued by the PM’s Secretariat informed.
During the meeting, Dahal said that though it was not good to impeach the person who had the responsibility to control abuse of authority and to maintain good governance; it would give a good message towards controlling corruption and maintaining good governance.The students had urged the PM to take effective role to endorse the impeachment proposal.
Likewise, Dahal appreciated the unity shown by different student unions on contemporary political issues of the country.
Meanwhile, PM Dahal also made it clear that the decision of giving public holiday on the days of visits of Presidents of two neighboring countries was not his own, but had been made by the Cabinet meeting after it was suggested by political leaders and security bodies.
