9:17 AMCPN-UML Chairman KP Oli has said that his party will not back down from
impeachment motion registered against CIAA Chief Commissioner Lokman
Singh Karki. Oli clearly stated that Karki cannot be given immunity as
he has breached constitution, rule and procedure. Speaking with joint
student association at his residence in Balkot on Saturday morning, the
former Prime Minister said, “Parliament cannot turn back now.” Oli
claimed that Nepali Congress will sooner or later support the imeachment
motion. He said that impeachment is the subject matter of parliament
and lawmakers and is not an issue to be decided by any party. “The topic
of impeachment did not pop out overnight,” said Oli. “It was under
discussion since my cabinet.”
