 National Defense University recently debuted the country’s first 
‘intelligent security robot’ called AnBot, meant to patrol areas prone 
to violence.The droid was on show at the Chongqing Hi-Tech Fair last 
week and is expected to be used to patrol areas prone to civil unrest or
 violence.The robot has four high-definition cameras which it can use to
 snap pictures of travelers’ faces, and then send them immediately to 
human coworkers for further analysis, People’s Daily reports.However, 
the Anbot isn’t just some glorified security camera. In case of 
emergencies it can also incapacitate threats via caddle prod of justice.
“AnBot has a high degree of autonomy,” Xiao Xiangjiang from the 
National Defense University said at the event. “It can patrol, avoid 
obstacles, identify and recharge on its own.“It is equipped with weapons
 to prevent and control violence by remote control. Moreover, it could 
be a service provider, which makes it more practical.
