It is the case of Lahore where mother has been arrested on suspicion of
burning her daughter to death for marrying wrong man.
The allegedly murderer mother has been arrested on suspicion of burning
her teenage daughter to death for marrying someone her family
disapproved of. She allegedly told police that she had no regrets for
killing her at all. Eighteen-year-old ZeenatRafiq, from Pakistan, was
reportedly tied to a bed by her mother Parveen, who doused her with
kerosene before setting her ablaze, said police.
Neighbours of the family, who lived in Lahore, called police on hearing
the teenager’s cries for help, but authorities were too late to reach
there; so they could not save her as they arrived on June 8, 2016 to
find her charred remains.
Mr. Sheikh Hammad, local police officer, said the woman had been
arrested shortly after the body of her daughter was revealed and she
confessed to the killing. The police officer Sheikh Hammad said she
stated -“I don’t have any regrets”.
